I transferred to San Luis Post Acute Care Center after 12 days as an inpatient at French Hospital in San Luis Obispo. SLPAC lives up to its 5 star rating: staff were patient, caring, skilled, and professional. No request was too small, and the patient call bell was answered promptly by someone eager to help. Nursing staff and administrators confer regularly with physicians, and there is a plan for an individual’s stay. Residents also interact with administrative staff: Center Director Adam Bramwell spends much of his time on the units, interacting with residents and families. I received medication, vitals checks, and meals on a regular schedule. Weekday Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy helped me gain strength and flexibility. Now, at home, I have skills to help me continue on my road to good health. If you have a choice of Post Acute Care facilities, please consider San Luis Post Care Center. The administrator Adam Bramwell made us feel so good about Mom’s care at San Luis Post Acute Center. From the moment Mom arrived he welcomed and assured us she would be in good hands (which she was). I was a bit emotional about her situation and he offered me his private cell number. He said even if he was home and I had a concern, he could come check on Mom. By going the extra mile, Mr. Bramwell earned our trust and appreciation. Thank you all at San Luis Accute for the selfless work you do. The Lane and Garrigus families appreciate you more than you’ll ever know.

I can’t say enough about the love, care, respect and constant comfort my grandfather received here. It was hard making a decision to bring him to a facility, after being ready to come home from a hospital, but not quit ready for home. I wish I’d know how amazing it truly was to have such a place as this. He was here for weeks, receiving care from professionals, who showed up to their job whole heartedly. I’m amazed this place doesn’t have higher praise. Thank you with all our hearts.

Here was my experience: I was there for approximately 3 weeks last September (2021) after a fall. The facility was VERY loud in the middle of the night and me without my ear buds. Dr. Tammy Arnold was attentive and wonderful. Her partner; however (didn't catch his name) was a nightmare. He let his heavy hand fall right on my still healing knee and when I objected (in tears), he told me that it wasn't that bad (my roommate didn't like him either). There was also one attendant (CNA perhaps-Did not catch his name either) insisted on weighing me even though I objected as I was weighed in upon arrival a few days earlier and was in tremendous pain. He wheeled me to the nurses station and was informed that he had the wrong patient. Hello? You both should be schooled on listening to patients. My P/T & O/T's Kyle and Joleen were wonderful and very patient with me. I was VERY grumpy but their demeaner was delightful. All of the rest of the staff (that I interacted with), facilities, food were top notch. Oh yes, and I had a night nurse that was in charge of distibuting meds. Only problem with her is that she could not be interrupted from her "lunch" break to give me my meds while I was in total agony in the middle of the night. They need to have a plan B for these situations. She redeemed herself; however, my going in to her own wallet to bring me some carbinated soda to help me relieve my gas issues. Also, the tech that came and x-rayed me in my bed was also a joy. The CNA's that had to come and check my vitals early in the morning (and at night) were very warm and calm. I'm sorry that I did not write down all of their names but they know who they are! The staffers who brought me my meals were so sweet. Thank you. I appreciate the job you all do and I hope I was an easy(ish) patient.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
