I have been a resident Of touch points at Chestnut For two and a half years now. When I first arrived here, I was placed in a room with a person who blasted his television at full blast morning noon and night. However, they were very helpful at getting me moved to a quiet room. In my time here the staff for the most part have been excellent to me. At one point a new management team took over at the facility, and I felt extremely uncomfortable having those particular managers in charge. However, now a new management team has taken over and they are the most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. It's also important to note that morale here seems to have improved greatly, and I might like to think that that is because of the new management team that is here now. At this point in time, I have never felt more comfortable and more at home than I do right now. In the beginning I was hoping to rehab and then go home. However because of increased health problems it now appears that I should be here indefinitely. And with the current management team that is here now, I feel quite comfortable with that.

My husband was admitted to Touchpoints at Chestnust Hill from the ER after a fall resulted in two fractured vertebrae. He stayed almost 2 weeks.

I would have removed my husband immediately if it hadn't been for the receptionist, *Valerie, who is a ray of sunshine. She made me feel welcome, and provided pertinent info. I'd often see her chatting or playing cards with lonely or bored residents. I hope Touchpoint appreciates her.

The 'lobby' is home to a pile of boxes and odd items that increases and decreases in size, daily. The hallways leading to rehab are dimly lit and reek of urine, feces, and bad plumbing. There is no sitting room to visit with family members. The pictures on the website do not remotely resemble this facility. My husband's room had ancient, decades old peeling wallpaper, rotting windowsill, no a/c, and poor lighting. His circa 1970s hospital TV hung over his bed and usually worked, although he had to aim the remote over his shoulder to hit the cable box. Not so easy with fractured vertebrae and limited mobility. It seemed like this room might have been a neglected storage area, prior to my husband's arrival, as the maintenance man was putting together another bed in case he got a roommate. Touchpoint/iCare should be embarrassed about the condition of this facility. I wonder how it has passed state inspection.

The charge nurse *Raylean R.N. (sorry about the spelling) was caring and attentive. She kept a good eye on my husband and immediately addressed any concerns. I felt comfortable knowing she was in charge of his care.

The physical therapists provided therapy daily, even on the weekends. They were always happy to discuss his needs and made valuable suggestions about what he might need at home. I really appreciate their care and concern.

The aides did their best to keep up with the demands in rehab. They were kind and most of the time answered call bells as efficiently as they could. They kept his bathroom clean and tidy, which is much appreciated.

The Social Worker, *Yanique coordinated a fast discharge when my husband couldn't tolerate being in the facility another day. I appreciate her expiditing his discharge.

I spoke to the facility administrator the day I took my husband home. I shared my concerns over the condition of his room, specifically, and the facility in general. She listened patiently, told me the facility is due for redecorating in spring. But truly, I hope something has been done about the peeling wallpaper, rotting windowsill, dim lighting, and no a/c in my husband's room.

p.s. the staff deserves 5 stars. The low rating is due to the condition of the facility.

My 28 year old daughter is recovering here after a stroke. The staff has been super helpful. They keep my child clean and dressed everyday! Staff interacts with her and makes her feel safe and happy. They offer recreational time with residents. They allows visits from family and let you take them for walks. The staff has been super nice and accommodating.

My Grandmother was there for 3 years . She went through her life savings until it ran out so she had to go on Title 19 . Touchpoint had a handful of good staff otherwise they were sub par at best . She passed away in the facility last week and do you think I got a phone call or letter offering their condolences Nope !! They have all these signs on the front lawn saying it’s a 5 star facility it’s about a 2.5 maybe ? I would not recommend this place to anyone do your research there’s plenty of places out there . To the few that treated her great I thank you as for the rest good ridden . Rick

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
