First of all let me say the place is filthy. Second, it smells bad. I visited a friend there, all the water is turned off and I couldn’t even flush the toilet after I used it. Believe me when I tell you I didn’t not want to use it. I wouldn’t send my pets there, let alone a loved one.. There is mold on the ceiling tiles, dripping down the wall behind his bed. Black mold. It’s so filthy around the door handles are nearly black from dirt. Never been washed. White doors with black filth on the bottom and handles. This place should be shut down.
And since I am being basically being called a liar by someone replying to me that these statements are untrue HOW ABOUT SOME PHOTOS TO BACK UP MY STATEMENTS. We have feces in a toilet that would not flush, and by the looks of it I’ll bet it was used more than once. There is also a towel next to it with feces on it. We have black mold all over the ceiling tiles above my friend’s bed. We have discarded medical waste, gloves and bandages just thrown on the floor by an Aide. We have black filth around the doorknobs, and I have many, many more photos. I’m saving g t;e best for the Health Department, Our Congresswoman and our Senator. Do not ever call me a liar, for one I have no reason to lie.. and two I truly believe this dump need to be shut down.

Our experience with Silver Spring Rehab was absolutely unacceptable. My grandfather was not given the care and attention he deserved—in fact, he ended up being discharged to the VA due to malnutrition. That alone speaks volumes about the level of neglect.

I constantly had to stay on top of the care team just to make sure he received basic human care and decency. No family should have to fight so hard just to ensure their loved one is treated with respect and dignity.

This facility failed our family in every way. I strongly urge others: do not let your loved one stay here. Run for the hills.

My husband was at Silver Springs Care Center so I could have a respite. I have to say the administration and staff are wonderful. They took very good care of him. They all learned his name and personality in the short time he was there. The facility is older but for me it is the care of the staff. I also heard no complaints about the food hubby. From what I saw I would have no complaints either.
All and all I would use the center again.

The end room where families gather needs far better seating accommodations and perhaps a paint job with a happier color. It also needs plant life that the patients can tend to and some more artwork to adorn the walls as it is drab. Furthermore, the TV doesn't work. How about a radio with some sweet music? This seems a simple fix. They could be showing decent movies there all day. Instead, there is a piano that functions but I never see anyone playing it. Staff members seem helpful and courteous enough. If I had my choice, I would likely place my loved one elsewhere but I am not in control of her destiny at the moment. That may change and if and when it does, I plan to withdraw her from this place and send her to a different institution with more activities and attention to detail. There is seemingly little for patients to do here. While I have seen other facilities that are way worse in my opinion, I have seen better and this place is not quite a four or five star resort as claimed repeatedly. Were I a patient here, I'd go nuts. Like I said, staff members seem to genuinely care about these poor people and their quality of life so I fail to understand why certain things like frequent showers and hair washing and fun and games are seemingly overlooked. This makes me somewhat sad. The patio is a redeeming plus as it allows my loved one a few precious moments away from the hallways they wander otherwise. I did notice one poor guy who showed up a bit late for patio access due to a narrow time frame for patients to enjoy the outdoors and felt sorry for him. I believe the patio should be an all day option and patientx should be given more access. I think a vegetable and flower garden would be great for patients to maintain outside. I'd suggest a radio with some sweet music indoors and out. It would help to have something to break up the monotony. Maybe lunch could be served outdoors on select days as well, creating a picnic atmosphere? It would give them an outdoor activity. These people aren't all capable on their own, but with some help, miracles might be accomplished. I think more could be done to improve things here. I challenge you to do better. Surprisingly my loved one seemed in good spirits and seemed to have been better washed and more presentable during my latest visitation. Hence, I have upgraded my rating to three stars.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
