Nursing home workers are some of the hardest working and compassionate people of all time. They often get overlooked in recognition and appreciation. I’d like to recognize a few of the staff members at Avantara Aurora for their tireless efforts to make residents feel valued and cared for. CNA‘s Christina, Yolanda, Olga, Nakina and Jessica. RN’s Laura and Amaka , Kim in laundry services and Abby in housekeeping. I also want to recognize and thank the activities staff Paula and Karl who are incredibly kind and are forever engaging residents with games and activities that keep them active, happy and engaged.

Not quite sure where to start..my grandmother was here for such a short period of time before we removed her to a different place for short term rehab. This place is absolutely horrible. The few nurses that I had encounters with had horrible bed side manner, and showed absolutely no respect to my grandma or our family. Most of the people we came across including a few CNAs were very odd and had very nasty demeanors. I don’t recommend this place to anyone, I’m in the health care field and I would never treat my patients or family the way Avantura did in such little time. It’s no telling what was happening when we left at night. Please do not trust this place with your family members.

All rehab centers have staffing issues, but hopefully patients have an advocate - family member or friend - to ensure the patient is getting the care they need.
