My Dad recently resided in the Ruthven Community Care Center (RCCC) prior to his passing in August 2025. He had previously been under skilled nursing care, residential care and finally hospice care while at the facility. My sister and I chose RCCC for its staffing, activities and pleasant atmosphere but didn’t fully appreciate their level of thoughtful care and attention until Dad became a resident. Dad had complicated medical needs and a high degree of pain which required more attention than the normal resident but the RCCC staff met and exceeded these challenges. Whether it be consulting with his physician, getting him to doctor’s appointments, physical therapy or trying to figure out what could make him more comfortable, every staff member treated him with utmost care and concern. We received good communication and were always confident he was being treated well.

The RCCC staff from the Administrator and head Nurse through the cafeteria staff, bathing and laundry were always cheerful and ready to help. On a number of occasions, they demonstrated how deeply they care for the welfare of the residents. The head Nurse would patiently feed someone in the dining hall while organizing the staff’s activities for the day. The physical therapist would work with Dad to positively reinforce how his exercises could gain him more freedom and mobility. Outings to local attractions were arranged to allow residents to experience life beyond the facility if only for an afternoon despite being a considerable logistical challenge. The staff were superbly cross-trained so that no one appeared tired or bored with the same daily routine and passed on their positive attitude to everyone. I witnessed perhaps the epitome of their level of care when a nurse tenderly cradled my Dad’s head and addressed him as “my friend” and really meant it as she helped with his physical pain while reassuring him that he was in her prayers.

We really miss Dad but we know that he was cared for in his last year in a way that we could never have provided by ourselves. Thank you RCCC staff.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
