the worst healthcare team i have ever had to speak with. They completely disregard patients safety and care by discharging my family member in a taxi right after a major snowstorm. he went home with no followup care, no prescriptions, and no medical devices. he ended up falling and having to crawl inside his house. none of this being necessary if they had followed a safe discharge plan and listened to my complaints that he did not haver a safe discharge in place. Connie on the social work department is a nightmare to speak with and raising her voice at family members and with argue you. She made personal demands to me that she had no right to bring up or even mention. Only people who acted professionally and seemed to actually have decency to are the receptionist and rehab director.

My experience with this nursing home was heartbreaking and unacceptable. Residents are not given the basic dignity, attention, or medical care they deserve. I witnessed repeated neglect, ignored call lights, and staff showing little compassion or urgency when residents were in distress. The environment feels unsafe, chaotic, and understaffed. Communication with families is poor, and management seems more focused on excuses than on accountability or improvement. Families entrust this facility with their loved ones, but what I saw was far from proper care — it was neglectful and distressing. Until there is a major change in leadership and oversight, I would urge others to look elsewhere for a place that truly values the health and safety of its resident

Visited Manahawkin Health and Rehabilitation Center. From the moment I entered the care center, I was greeted warmly and received all the assistance I needed. Building was clean and staff were professional and very helpful. 😊

The one-star is for the caring staff, from the custodial team to nursing and PT/OT who really seem to care for the patients. They are the only redeeming quality of this literally roach infested, broken down, just plain sad place. Honestly don't have the words to describe what I saw my family member endure for two weeks in the name of rehabilitation. Prayers for the souls who are living their lives out there. Possibly better than being homeless.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
What to do next
Data is a starting point, not a final answer. We encourage families to visit facilities in person, observe daily routines, and speak with staff and residents. See our guide: Questions to Ask When Visiting →
