The people caring for patients seem extremely understaffed with just a few people working. If its within 2 hours of a meal there is no one to help someone who pushes their call button because they are moving people to and from the dining area. Management needs to staff properly so employees don't become overworked and patients aren't neglected. Some of the people here are truely caring, amazing people who put up with a lot - I'd give them 5 stars! The others deserve 1 star. They routinely made my grandfather wait over an hour to help him get out of bed and use the bathroom. When we tried to talk to management about it, the staff retaliated, and it got worse with them turning off his call light without assisting him. When I would visit i would offer to get someone for him after he waited so long, but he would say not to ask them if they were on rounds because they would get mad. I hate that he had to spend his last few months here. If your family member can get around on their own, you might be fine. But if they need assistance getting up and using the bathroom, from our experience, your loved one will wait uncomfortably until they can no longer hold it and then have to sit in a soiled bed until someone finally comes.

I came to Abyshire pretty much a vegetable. I had been in Cleveland Clinic for 31days. I was in bad shape. But they saved.life .I came hereFeb 13th. Still had a feeding tube. The staff and rehab staff took such good care. The Rehab department is awesome. I am going home on the 13th of March. They taught me how to walk and stand a d balance. I can walk alone like 300 feet. I am using a cane to help with balance. But I know I would not be where I am today without this wonderful staff. I highly recommend Abyshire to anyone, just can't say enough about it

My grandmother soiled herself and was left to sit in her own mess for over an hour on multiple occasions. After informing the nurses my grandmother needed assistance with the bathroom they told me "they're on rounds right now they'll get there when they can" so I waited 10 minutes and no assistance so we pressed the help button on the bed. 15 more minutes and a nurse still hadn't shown up so I informed the nurses at the station she no longer needed assistance with the restroom and she now needed cleaned. 40 minutes later and 30 minutes after the lady across the hall also hit her help button nurses finally showed.
After sharing this experience with my aunt I found out this is a regular occurrence at this facility and is 100% elderly abuse through neglect at best.
My grandmother is now at a better facility out of our own pocket but the sores she developed here are healing and her therapy is has already started when it was 2 weeks and still no therapy at this facility.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
