UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. My sister has lived there for years, and in that time there has always been a small, core group of caring individuals working there, but they did not seem to have the support of their management. The result was that the standard of care -- except by that handful of caregivers -- lacked accountability, and so was inconsistent. Now they have the support of a new Administrator, Anne Markwardt, and she is bringing the energy.

I visit twice a week and i see she has hired a cleaner to maintain the building - he is dusting, cleaning windows, buffing floors every time I come. She has instituted Mandatory Skills Training seminars and improved the quality of the Activities for the residents, among other cultural improvements. She is genuinely interested in her work, and is responsive to my questions and concerns, every time. Her hard work is taking this facility in a better direction.

My relative was moved here recently at the recommendation of their hospital social worker. I refer to this place as the human warehouse. Upon arrival, the smell of urine and human waste greet you. Incoherent residents deteriorate in the "dayroom". The front desk is rarely staffed, so a resident or food service staff might let you in. The staff handle patients like bags of trash. The rooms are poorly kept; think of furniture harvested from the dumpster at Goodwill. The staff do a horrible job of coordinating medical appointments. Here's one example of their neglect... My relative was in the ER several times in 2 weeks for a UTI. He was finally discharged to the ER for the UTI; it was so bad that IV antibiotics were required. The staff claimed my relative became upset and tried to remove the catheter- apparently ignoring the pain that their neglect caused! They never mentioned the UTIs prior to this. This is the place of last resort- the place you hope you never have to stay in. Absolutely awful!

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
What to do next
Data is a starting point, not a final answer. We encourage families to visit facilities in person, observe daily routines, and speak with staff and residents. See our guide: Questions to Ask When Visiting →
