First I want to say that 99% of the staff are wonderful. I understand the short staffing issues, they are happening everywhere. However, when my mother has been at this location for almost a year now, was moved from the 100 wing to the 200 wing her service has gone down hill. Especially in the evening. 2 examples are: 1 she pushes the nurse light and has to wait for sometimes an hour to use the bathroom. She them soils herself and gets scolded and told to hit her button earlier. 2 One time she hit the button and was taken to the bathroom and left there for an hour and a half. The nurse said "my shift is over and someone else be back shortly"<br>My mother is 100% reliant on the nurses. She can not stand or walk on her own. Unexceptionable short staffed or not!

The treatment my dad received this last week at friendly village was not favorable. When he first got there, his bathroom was not clean. They were slow answering when he would push his call light and he is a FALL RISK! He got moved to this specific facility because of a breathing machine he was required to use, (a little fancier than a sleep apnea machine) none of the staff knew how to use it! He had to operate it himself. They even forgot to serve him dinner one night. I understand short staffing issues everywhere but this was just ridiculous! All around a bad experience for him. I do not recommend Friendly Village Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rhinelander for your family members.

My 93 year old mom has now been a resident of Friendly Village for almost 3 months. This is the 4th assisted living/nursing home facility that she has lived in and it is by far the best. The entire staff has been welcoming, compassionate and professional. Communication with our family is prompt, efficient and thorough. Mom is being cared for by a loving, attentive staff who have taken the time to personally get to know her and her needs. She is being encouraged to be her best self and has gained physical strength and social engagement since arriving at FV. The food is very appetizing and there are lots of "like home" sitting and meeting areas, both inside and outside, for family and visitors. The church services, choirs, special lunches and socials that are held in addition to the frequently organized games and activities make for cheerful and busy days. I feel blessed and relieved that my mom has a home in such a supportive and warmhearted environment.

If I could leave Zero stars I would. Research all facilities in the area before placing a loved one at this Nursing Home.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
