DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS PLACE . HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN.

giving 1-star because it won't allow me to give zero stars. My mother in law was sent to Granite, after being at YRMC East for a week and a half in December. She was at Granite for 3 weeks and was not rehabilitated at all. The Administrators only care about money and getting their 5-star rating with the State regulators back. We had to take my mother in law back to the hospital because she did not receive the care she needed at Granite. Now, the hospital is trying to discharge her back to Granite, even though we have been in communication with the Administrators at another facility that has a bed available and takes her insurance. It's become pretty clear that the Administrators at Granite and YRMC East have some kind of racket going on, my guess is some kind of financial kick-back system. We are definitely going to be reporting this to the State Ombudsman.

After reading all the reviews I was very scared to have my dad stay here for rehabilitation. My dad had good care, one of the nurses (Vicky) was always nice to her patients and my dad was her patient. I have to say staff gets busy, but they do their best. Yes, food is not the best, but it is decent. I think at times housekeeping is not the best either floors can be dirty, but they try to keep it as clean as they can. I know a lot of these places are short staff. My dad received good care while he was there. I would try to check on him daily, he was always happy. All the therapists were very nice.

I learned to be cynical. I had to cry and have my mom complain in person to the owner to get 1 shower a week. I was there for 6 weeks and the staff thought I had arthritis and was independent, I actually had nerve damage and couldn’t even sit up in bed without help. It was the worst 6 weeks of my life.

This is an awful place. Do not send loved ones to this facility. It smells like urine. If you press a call botton get ready to wait 45 minutes for someone to come. They withheld my medications. Woke to someone standing over my bed in the dark. Halls are so noisy sleeping is hard. Lost my medication. The front desk woman is delusional.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
