This facility advertises a four-star rating, which does not reflect our experience. Based on what we observed, the level of care and oversight is concerning. Staffing appears inadequate, and some staff members demonstrate a lack of urgency and professionalism. Administrative staff are dismissive and unresponsive to concerns. Meals are poorly prepared and inconsistently served, and basic infection-control practices are not reliably followed. For families considering placement, I strongly recommend thoroughly researching this facility and visiting unannounced before making any decisions regarding a loved one’s care.

Such a beautiful community. I had the pleasure of visiting last week and was truly impressed. The community was exceptionally clean, but what stood out most was the kindness and compassion of the staff. You could genuinely feel the love and care they have for the patients. It warmed my heart to see how happy and well cared for everyone looked.

I arrived at this facility to heal after an automobile accident. When I got there I realized there was no air conditioning it was broken and the TVs had been turned off several weeks before I got there. I asked to take a shower. The wound specialist had to make sure that my ankle was healed enough. She took the dressing off of my ankle and there was black on my ankle. I asked her what was the black stuff on my ankle! she reassured me that it was just bruising. Are the blood from my bruises settling in the bottom of my body. I did not believe her and as a wound specialist I cannot believe that she did not know what dead skin look like. I felt very suspicious about that and I called 911 and they took me back to the hospital and no my foot was dying the skin was dying on my foot. I have total reconstructive surgery on my foot and ended up in the hospital for two more weeks and another nursing home for over a month. Other than the wound specialist the staffing there is very nice they work under horrible conditions. I wouldn't put my worst enemy in that place. If I had listened to that nurse and waited I would have died of gaingreen for sure.

If only there was a negative star rating was an option…. Absolutely Disgraceful – Unsafe, Filthy, and Dangerously Neglectful If you're thinking about placing yourself or a loved one at Windsor of El Camino, do not do it. My experience there was not just substandard—it was a health and safety nightmare that left me worse off than when I arrived. Let’s start with the condition of the facility: filthy is an understatement. The floors were so warped and bubbled that I could barely move down the hallway safely—and I was using a walker that they didn’t even provide until day six of my stay. To make matters worse, the walker they finally gave me was literally held together with zip ties. That’s the level of care and attention to safety you can expect here. Out of a 10-day stay, I only received four sessions of physical therapy, each about 30 minutes long. That’s less than two total hours of rehab—completely unacceptable and far below what was promised or expected. The neglect from the staff was the most serious issue. One night, I was forced to sleep with no dressing over my stitches, even after making it clear I needed wound care. The overnight staff coldly told me it “wasn’t their job” to change it. That level of indifference led directly to an infection that required a return trip to the hospital. Throughout my stay, I constantly heard other patients crying out for help—sometimes for hours—with no response from staff. It was heartbreaking and unacceptable. The staff were either lazy, apathetic, or flat-out unqualified to be working in any kind of skilled nursing environment. Windsor of El Camino failed on every level: cleanliness, basic care, medical safety, and human decency. This is not a place for healing—it’s a facility where neglect is routine and your well-being is an afterthought. I would never send anyone here. Not a friend. Not a stranger. Certainly not a loved one. If you care about someone’s health and dignity, stay as far away from this facility as possible.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
