Left me crying and laying in pain for 4 hours; this was unacceptable and cruel. I requested a nurse multiple times, none appeared. The staff did not monitor or cared that I wasn't eating or taking in liquids. I was both weak and dehydrated by the time I went home. Orders left by the rotating doctor/nurse were never carried out. I was unable to walk making a bedpan was necessary. The majority of the time the sheets had to be changed, and no one cleaned me up. Some of the staff were very nice and caring, while others were not. I hope I never, every have to go there again.

*** See below for my final update - Day 25 My recovery care is very important to regaining my previous lifestyle. Before selecting a facility, I checked the reviews of all the local facilities. We all know you need to wade through the super negative and super positive. Eventually I chose NVCC and quite glad I did. I arrived on Sunday June 22nd. The facility is clean and the staff members are wonderful. Monday was a full day onboarding including meetings with all Department Heads. It was very helpful in setting my expectations for my time here. Since Monday, I have settled into a good rhythm and I'm making excellent progress. The staff is attentive and accommodating. Of course we've had a few bumps as we learn each other's schedule but none without resolution. If you need a medical recovery facility I suggest you try here. You'll be glad you did. Follow up - End of day 4 and I'm making great progress. OT,PT therapists are wonderful. *** Day 25 - heading home Arrived on a gurney - walked out the front door I'm quite delighted to tell everyone I made major strides at NVCC during my stay. The staff from top to bottom, Admin to cleaning, are due a lot of the credit. Their attention to my recovery and my will to leave walking were the keys to success. There are several staff members who I'd like to give a shout out. If you don't see your name it's not that you are not important/remembered but that my brain is over 70. LOL Administration: Everyone needs a bus driver. Debra was wonderful. She made sure I was in the correct lane while I was there and also took care of my Medicare requirements. Any time I asked to see her she'd show up with a smile and an answer. PT/OT: Joel, Mike, Amanda, Janet, Dale and Emily - I can't thank you enough for your attention to detail and keeping me motivated. Nursing: Monica, Diana, Manu and Yasmine - You were always there when I needed you. CNA: Georgina, Iris, Yolanda and Bernenise - You made my life as close to being at home as possible. Your kindness will be remembered. Cafeteria: This is for the kitchen staff. You met my every menu switch with a smile while providing better than average meals. It's tough cooking for a whole building eating at the same time. I hope those of you reading this review never need to go for recovery, but if you do (probably yes if your reading this) I give high marks to NVCC. I should know. This is my 4th stay at a recovery facility during the last 5 years. Hopefully, my last. Don't expect perfection, there will always be some bumps no matter where you go. They were certainly few and far between during my stay at NVCC. Thanks to everyone at Napa Valley Care Center! Nelson

Ive had more than 1 family member in this facility over the years. I'm writing this review to acknowledge the improvements I've witnessed over the last year as a family member of a full time resident. It started last year with a complete cosmetic remodel. New flooring, paint, outdoor areas . This has definitely improved the moral of patients, staff and visiting family. The entire staff ,administration, social worker, business office, front desk receptionist, nurses, food handlers have been very supportive to not only thier patient but the family as well . Thank you Napa Valley Care Center.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
What to do next
Data is a starting point, not a final answer. We encourage families to visit facilities in person, observe daily routines, and speak with staff and residents. See our guide: Questions to Ask When Visiting →
