Where do I even begin! Gold Country is absolutely AMAZING! My Father had a stroke and spent approx 4 months in Skilled Nursing before he was discharged home. Home was not good environment so I brought him back to the Assisted Living side. Everyone, and I means EVERYONE is beyond amazing. My father loves to be at this facility, everyone is SO kind and and treat him with so much respect. My nerves are at ease when he is here because I know he is happy and cared for. The entire team from front office with Martha, Monica, Vickie, Kayla all the way down to everyone that helps my father along the way. Victor, Taylor, Justin, Julian, Nate, Kelly, Nikki, Gilbert, Annabelle.....I could not even begin to name everyone that has been part of this journey with my father and I. I THANK YOU ALL, from the bottom of my heart for the care and kindness you give my father everyday. You all have a special place in my heart. ❤️

This place makes Western Slope look amazing. A bunch of young students, spending most of the time chatting in hallways or playing on phone. My father was ignored, told "not my job" when asking for help. They lost 2 phone chargers and I believe they purposely put him back in the hospital just to get rid of him. Yes he was difficult at first but that's thier job to be able to deal with it, not ignored.

Lots of issues with Gold Country and Martha in the business office trying to back date my dads bill. Beware, not just for your loved ones well being but also their pocketbook. When you arrive to a skilled nursing facility, the first thing they do is let you know what date your loved ones Medicare runs out before it switches to private pay. Martha in the business office did NOT do that, she had Monica, head nurse, call and leave me a VM on 8/7/25 telling me that my dads Medicare ran out on 7/30/25 and that they were going to back date the information and switch it to private pay from 7/30/25 to 8/7/25 (I picked him up on the 8th because of this). Martha is unprofessional, wouldnt let me talk when she FINALLY called me after several weeks and me leaving her 2 VM's, she ended up hanging up on me, sending us bills for $4687.30 for 8 days. FYI - I have the VM that Monica left me saying she was just told that they were going to back date and switch to private pay, lol. It is illegal for them to do that. ALSO, Monica broke the HIPAA Law by telling me another patients last name. DO NOT GO THERE!

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
