Heartfelt thanks to the CNA’s, nurses, and therapists for making a challenging transition from home and hospital much easier. I highly recommend The Shores to anyone seeking high-quality, person-centered nursing and therapy care.

☆☆ PLEASE READ ALL : I've been at this facility for 15 years. I need to be near my daughter's house, so I can visit her, my Grandson, and son-in-law often. CLOSE TO FAMILY IS A MUST ‼️‼️‼️ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Certified Nurse's Assistant's (CNA) are extremely overwhelmed with long hours, to many patients assigned to each CNA, often NOT available for your assigned shower or bed bath day. Monthly changing of CNA'S assigned to a section, makes it very difficult for a CNA to remember each residents routine, making it confusing for all. I'm extremely alert and every month it seems as if I'm training someone new. This changing of the "guards" is a new procedure and I prefer the procedure prior to this change. Whereas, I was able to create a close friendship with my CNA'S who I could converse with, share ideas, laugh with, and completely trust. Activities daily, mainly for the elderly patients such as Bingo, Singers, and nail painting. A weekly menu is posted for those able to go and read it. Menus are often different as shown which can be revised if the patient is alert enough to ask the CNA to make suitable changes. (2 hours prior than meal time) Special therapy assessment and certified therapist in the advanced equipped workout room for those residents whom are approved by their Doctor. Often approved only for a very short period of time, which defects the purpose. Staffed financial, social, dietitian workers avaliable but you have to be patient to talk to them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I feel by being an alert, responsible resident, the ability to go many places in San Diego contribute to my inter happiness, mental stability and enjoyment of life. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My step mother was sent here after having a leg amputation at Kaiser, they refused her a bedpan. The woman couldn't even sit up on her own. They did not answer the call buttons, sometimes for hours. She ended up back at Kaiser because someone on their staff didn't care to check her chart before giving her an incorrect dose of diabetic medication. DO NOT consent to this place.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
What to do next
Data is a starting point, not a final answer. We encourage families to visit facilities in person, observe daily routines, and speak with staff and residents. See our guide: Questions to Ask When Visiting →
