It is a tough day when you have to send a parent to a rehab facility. But, overall, my siblings snd I were happy with the care and people working at this facility. Torrance Memorial released my mom at 10:45pm in the rain and I was worried. We got to Bay Crest and Cynthia greeted me with a smile and a welcome. Made things a lot easier to take.

I’ve seen numerous reviews praising Bay Crest, but my experience was utterly disheartening. After my sister was discharged from Torrence Memorial Hospital—where she received exceptional care during her treatment—I thought we could find a suitable facility for her rehabilitation. Unfortunately, due to her health insurance limitations, the center we hoped for couldn’t provide the necessary support. The case manager at Torrence Memorial went above and beyond, reaching out to over 200 facilities in search of a place for my sister. In the end, the only option available was Bay Crest.

The moment we arrived by ambulance, a palpable wave of dread washed over me as we stepped through the doors. My initial thoughts transformed into a reality that I could never have imagined—this place was far from the haven I had envisioned. The unsettling reviews regarding the food, the environment, and the staff were not merely exaggerations; they were painfully accurate.

As I left my sister there, my heart ached, and tears streamed down my face, knowing I was leaving her in a place that felt so wrong. She looked up at me, trying to reassure me with a brave smile, but I could see the truth in her eyes. She had lost so much weight that eating the unfamiliar food had become a daunting task, and to make matters worse, they missed administering three doses of her essential antibiotic medication.

I could share countless distressing details of my experience—each more unsettling than the last—but that would take far too long. I implore anyone reading this review: please, for the love of your family, do not consider bringing your loved ones here. And to the Board of Health, I earnestly urge you to investigate this facility; it’s high time to put an end to the suffering happening within those walls.
I would give Bay Crest a 0 but it is not possible.

Poor care. Lack of professionalism. My father was left unattended and scared. He was dehydrated and his kidneys were shutting down. He was delusional and confused. They couldn’t even bring him some water. My dad almost died in their care.
DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE

Recently my mom was admitted to Bay Crest Care Center and I noticed how hard the stuff works to make the patients comfortable and card for. Many exceptional employees work here and I am especially thankful to the social workers Ms. Tahanae Butler. She has been a blessing to our family. She and most of the staff at Bay Crest are very dedicated in helping the patients.

This place is the worst SNF ever! Almost everyone who works here is so rude and unpleasant for no reason. Nurses rather gossip than actually do their job. I've been to dozens of SNFs before and this is the first review I make. I would rate this negative stars if I could. Do NOT bring your loved ones here if you actually care about them. This place needs to be shut down for the benefit of humanity!

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
