Such a beautiful location and so much to see and learn about the history of the Sisters and really of early Indiana around Terre Haute. The little museum is informative, well laid out and actually beautiful.
Any Sister we encountered was simply lovely and helpful.
The gift shop had such a variety of goods - many of which are handmade and some also specifically Fair Trade.
The chapel and church were particularly serene and reverence inducing.
Our main purpose was to look up/visit past teachers in the Sisters' cemetery and we were able to go into the office and get specific information for the ones we did not have dates for. Not that it is a surprise but the cemetery is laid out in a very organized fashion and usually the gravestones are in date order - unless there was a family member that they were going to be buried next to.

When I was there, I toured the entire farm-fantastic. The museum about the foundress is beautifully done. Everything I did there was worthwhile.

My encounter with the Sisters was in 1975 when the Sisters would come to the Gibault S
School for Boys to tutor us
I was only about 14 yrs old and when visiting the St Marys campus it was an enlightening experience that I remember to this day
Oddly
Since that time, the best Medical Care i have received was with the Sisters of Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage and other Sisters of Providence Medical facilities
May the Joy of our glorious holy father always be with you and keep you safe. Your impact on me even now 64 will always be remembered. God bless your sisters and thank you so much for the impact you made in a young life.

St. Mary-of-the-Woods is a beautiful place. There's plenty of room to walk, the church and liturgies are inspiring, the gift shops are well supplied with interesting and useful items, and shrine offers some fascinating historical information as well as an understanding of St. Mother Theodore Guerin and the early sisters.

It's a beautiful place. Many nice nuns. It's amazing how the sisters built this place. All the hard work, religious and ethical. Sisters care too much about the environment but forget one more important thing that saving babies and saving humans from abortions, so the saved environment from our hard work would have some humans in the future enjoy it. If we don't save babies from abortions, then good environment for whom?
The aborted baby bodies produce the most polluted environment.

China is the most pollution country, affects 90% population of the world. I hope the sisters can do something about it. Must make China change and follow America rules.

Hope the sisters recognize it and go in the right direction! God bless.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
