Just got off of the phone with my Dads weekend nurse. He is there for rehab from a broken hip. He hit his call button for forty minutes to try to get someone to just move his curtain so he could watch his T.V. because he had asked the nurse aid to move his curtain earlier and she slung it to the side and it blocked his view of the tv and walked out. My Dad called me hoping i was still in Kinder to go move it cuz i had visited him earlier. I wasn’t, so i called and told the girl at front desk my Dads issue and she told me maybe i needed to speak to someone. I waited on the phone a few minutes and a lady got on the phone and gave me her name but no title and began to get rude right away. She kept asking who i was but i had asked her what her title was because i told her that I could be speaking to anyone. This was a private matter and she also puts me on speaker phone which i asked her why she did that. Again it’s a private matter. The lady raised her voice at me several times and when i told her my Dad said his nurse had slung his curtains in the way of his tv the lady on the phone got mad raised her voice and exclaimed “im his nuse and it didn’t happen “. Well i said then why is my Dad calling me at home to contact the nursing home to go move his curtain. Well, it was apparently a nurse aid but then why didn’t she just tell me that upfront or go see who it was instead of being rude about everything. My Dad is a heart patient as well. If he couldn’t get someone to respond in 40 minutes the what happens if he goes into cardiac arrest. I am mad about him not getting help when needed and also the fact that this nurse was so damn rude. There is a professional way to handle these things and this nurse needs a lesson in it. They forget that they could be in that bed one day or one of there family members.

My dad was there a short time, and came for rehab after a major surgery. He was only there a few days when admin was asking how much his property & house were worth. His insurance pays for 90 days of rehab and they immediately starting asking if he would be long term and calculating how many years of stay the cost of his property would pay for, even though he had insurance and Medicare. I would say to check on your loved ones often if possible. Just because someone works in "healthcare" does not mean they actually care. His stay did not leave me with a good impression at all unfortunately.

I was always told if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all. I will leave this word of advise to people wanting to bring their family members to this facility. Go as often as you possibly can to check on your family member, and don't go the same time everytime you go. Go late at night or early morning. Good luck and I hope you have a better experience then we had.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
