My husband is currently at this facility as of 1/25/26. I was hoping this faciltiy would be decent enough due to it's better rating than most in the vicinity. The only good thing is the location for me to travel from Flushing. The food is fairly decent. Not always so good but it's ok. Some of the aides are attentive and do the best they can at the moment dealing with one patient at a time. But if they are busy, then it's difficult to get anyone to pitch in. According to Lana the social worker " we have enough people on staff to deal with the enitre second floor." There are 3 aides, 2 nurses or LPN according to her. It seems like it is manageable during the day but when it gets busy, especially at dinner time or when someone is on break for one hour, ( which they are enitled to ), then one sits in his urine for 1 hour or longer without anyone helping. This is pure neglect and dehumanizing for the patient. One aid always has to be in the dining room and the remaining 2 are covering the floor. The nurses are busy also with patients I assume or on break too. There is also a dispenser nurse or LPN but they can't assist with the patient's needs unless it's strickly medication. So if an aide takes the dinner break, then there is only ONE aide covering the entire second floor because the aid in the dining room always has to be there. This facility is also UNDERSTAFFED just like all the rest of them. Also make sure you are getting all your medications. My husband was not until it was settled with the supervising nurse. My husband was in a room shared with 3 other men. Absolutely horrible that there are 4 people in this tiny room meant for 2. It's cluttered with wheel chairs , mats, tables and chairs. Aides are constantly manuerving these items in order to help a patient. You think they enjoy this? Then the noise with 3 tv sets on at the sametime. The speakers on these sets are in the back of the tv not on the remote control which would be better. Antiquated. No BED RAILS. So the reason for having mats incase someone falls out of the narrow beds. Therapy as I understand is good. My husband likes it but it's not enough. Only 5 days and nothing on the weekends. I think the therapy could be a bit more progressive. The room is overloaded with patients. 6 floors of people what can you expect. The second floor is for rehabilitation short term, the rest is long term care unless it is assisted living as well. I can't wait till he comes home and that will be on his own accord. The staff works hard and some will go out of their way to help. My husband is finally in a semi private room. He is receiving more attention and treatment after having a review. Update: Going on week 3. More walking and exercises. However, he now has UTI because of sitting in soiled pull ups or diaper for 1 hour. The nurses and aides work very hard here hence the waiting time to attend each patient.Which I stated earlier, not enough staff especially after 3 pm change of staff. Three aides to 29 patients. One is always in the dining room while two cover the floor. Then one goes to dinner and that leaves ONE AIDE to 29 or less patients. ONE. That's insane. Not fair to patients or the aides. HIRE MORE PEOPLE to take care of the patients. I have seen others who gave poor reviews and they are absolutely correct. UPDATE: I want to give a 4 Star rating to the staff who go out of their way to assist the patients. Those are ones who care and willing to help when really needed. The aides have difficult job taking care of the patients' perosnal needs. They are also without a doubt underpaid for their services. I want to thank Christine for managing my husband's hospital care and expecially when he returned to Forest View. Thank you Lana for making all the necessary arrangements for discharge. I now have a better understanding of the situation a gave it a 2 rating.

They have an outstanding team that supported my recovery. Oscar, Physical Therapist; Flo Occupational Therapist; and Laura Accardi, Speech Pathologist all provided excellent care. They were consistently supportive and made a significant difference in my progress. Thank you.

Forest View Nursing Home has been a wonderful facility. The facility itself is very clean and well maintained, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. Patients are encouraged to socialize and participate in activities, which is great to see and really enhances their quality of life. The food is also tasty and well prepared, which makes a big difference for patients. I especially want to highlight the outstanding work of Laura Accardi, the speech pathologist. Laura is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate in her approach. She truly goes above and beyond for her patients, tailoring therapy to meet individual needs while making them feel comfortable and supported every step of the way. Laura’s dedication and professionalism are evident in the progress she helps patients achieve, and her positive attitude makes a meaningful impact every day. Forest View is very fortunate to have such an exceptional speech pathologist on their team. I highly recommend this facility.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
