Park Manor is always such a joy to visit. They take excellent care of my grandmother. The group activities especially make her little self very happy. I would recommend Park Manor to anyone whose family member needs more care than can be otherwise supplied. Love this place!

This place is nothing but awesome! The staff, director are all really great. The director really makes you feel welcomed and is very personable with the residents and family. They listen to your concerns and wishes. It is a very warm and clean place. It doesn't have THAT smell some communities have. I have had my mom there 3yrs and have had zero issues with care, cleanliness, hospitality, staff- all have been great. Garth is truly an awesome director- who genuinely cares for the ppl and his staff. Cheryl is a great front desk person. She engages with everyone - especially the residents who are the most important at this stage in their lives. She will help them get their coffee, making sure they are ok, comfortable. She answers the phone with great customer service- even when she is doing 100 things at the time. You wouldn't even know she is handling all of that behind the phone. Again- this place is very unique. You won't find another one like it

This will be Part I of my review, since my mom has been at Park Manor for only 3 weeks. I'll post another review after she has been at Park Manor longer. My mom was at Gaines Ranch AL for several years (which we loved), but she was not able to return there after she broke her pelvis in September. I found Park Manor through James Mercer (from Comforts of Home Hospice, which we will be using when we get to that point); he had great things to say about the administration and staff at Park Manor, all of which I saw for myself when I toured and during my mom's first three weeks there. Below I outline a few of my thoughts and observations about Park Manor: 1. Residents and visitors are treated like people at Park Manor. That may sound like an obvious thing to say, but that was not my experience at the previous (unnamed) rehab/LTC that my mom was in. 98% of the nurses, CNAs, techs, therapists, nutrition folks, maintenance folks, and other staff at Park Manor will look up when you pass them in the hall and greet you. I especially like that my mom is usually greeted by name. It also makes me laugh when CNA Ray bows before my mom and then asks her what she needs. Shout-outs also to Rhonda, Marquita, KK, Margaret, Rebecca, Colin, and Brianna for excellent care. I know I am forgetting to mention some awesome folks here by name; my mom and I are still learning names, so we will have more shout-outs in the future. 2. The executive director Garth, admissions director Cheri, and other administrative staff are out and about on the floor everyday. (Garth actually changed my mom's oxygen tank today.) This tells me that everyone, including the administrative staff, are hands-on at ensuring that the day-to-day operation of Park Manor is the best that it can be. 3. Admissions director Cheri personally checked on my mom every day for the first two weeks that she was at Park Manor. Those first two weeks are typically the most challenging, when the resident is getting used to new people, new environment, new routine. I loved when Cheri texted me a picture of my mom in the middle of the day! 4. Therapy is A M A Z I N G! At my mom's last (unnamed) rehab/LTC, they told me "not to hold my breath" that my mom would be able to stand on her own. After less than 2 weeks of therapy with the fantastic therapy team at Park Manor (Jon for PT and fantastic lady who does OT with my mom <so sorry that I am blanking on her name>), I watched my mom pull up from a seated to standing position 10 times in a row, and then walk about 50 steps with a walker. The very sweet part was watching Jon rub her back while she took a break and sipped on the water he brought her in between exercises; see comment #1 where Park Manor treats all residents with humanity and kindness! 5. On 20 of the 21 days that my mom has been there, she has been dressed in fresh clothes with her hair combed and smelling good. I think that this is a very good track record. I do like that Garth says, "We are not perfect, but we are trying everyday." This shows that he is practical, because no facility can be perfect 100% of the time. He wants to know when something goes wrong so that it can be corrected and a better process put in place. On the one day that I found my mom in stale clothes, the CNA immediately gave my mom a shower and hairwash, dressed her in fresh clothes, and cleaned her bed; furthermore, Garth had the director of nursing follow up with me. 6. I love the courtyard in the center of the building. I took my mom out there today for some sunshine, while we rocked in the rocking chairs. More to come after my mom has been at Park Manor longer.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
