NO STARS! DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!!!!
Evansville Manor neglected my mom. They made her eat cold, raw, pureed food. I was told Mark made her eat it. When she was in the hospital after, she ate all sorts of food and never choked once.
One of their aids left my mom in a wheelchair for 10 hours unattended, soiled herself, and the aid only got suspended and still works there. The employees fall asleep on the job, fall asleep on residents that do need help getting fed, and sit on their phones. When you visit, anyone could just walk in, no one is at the desk to help, and residents are scattered there unattended. These residents pay money to be taken care of, and no one there seems to care for their well-being.
When my mom got sick, she was having breathing problems and needed an emergency inhaler. The medicine employee, Shay brought her rescue inhaler, and just teased her, waving it in front of her face, refusing to give it to her. Is this how your employees treat their patients? The nurses are mean, then why are they working? Getting mad at her for "having to clean" her, "having to dress" her.
Most importantly, my mom complained of abdominal pain for MONTHS there, and all the nurses dismissed it as "just muscle". When she got sick and was taken to St. Mary's hospital by ambulance, to find out that "muscle" she complained about was actually ascites of the liver. Why did your employees ignore her? She died from cirrhosis of the liver that could have been possibly caught in time before it killed her. She got 12 liters of fluid removed from her that could have been drained before it got that bad. The fluid build up got so bad and ignored that it made her kidneys get so bad, she was denied dialysis. The fluid got so bad, half her heart stopped working. The fluid buildup got so bad, it caused her to have a hard time breathing. the fluid got so bad, FOUR of her organs failed. This all could have saved her if she wasn't ignored and got help before it was too late. She was supposed to get released from your nursing home, but instead we have a grieving family.
I demand answers on why your company, the place my family trusted you to take care of our loved one, ignored and neglected our now dead mother?
If you're looking for a facility to take your loved one, I suggest finding somewhere else.

I felt very care for while I stayed in rehab, unfortunately my illness is tricky and my care is needing more help from specialist at this time. I would recommend people to use this place for easy rehabilitation needs. A huge Thank you to the aides and nurses that took care of me, and PT & OT. I was walking when they started and something changed and they still worked with what I had to use!!
Thanks to you all!!
Mary

In a time where it is hard to staff a business like EVM, they do quite well. My son spent a month in a hospital with NO diagnosis and EVM's staff figured out his problem. That tells me he has people that THINK about him and what his problem might be. I'm thankful the system sent him to EVM for rehab and he was OK with staying because I am to old to care for him anymore. They must be doing something right.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
