So my father has been there for about one an half years, that sounds terrible i know but my sister and I, live in different states now and it's going to cost a lot to get him here with us. That being said let me explain a little he had double amputation on his legs so he's wheel chaired bound. I speak to my father every couple days and sometimes it's a good conversation but other times he just tells me how he is being treated being moved room to room because I dont know why maybe conflict between the room mates having a problem or the staff im not sure but it just dont sit right with me. He pays all this money just like anyone else that's there but because of the color of his skin is different from everyone else doesn't mean he should be treated so poorly. The staff are there to do a job and they do get paid to assist the ones there and I know it gets frustrating at times but maybe they need to hire more help.

My husbands grandfather was recently just transferred to this facility. The bar was set VERY low by the “rocky” experience they had with another facility. That said the staff at Shepard of the valley were exceptional at both making grandpa feel comfortable and providing him the quality of care he deserves. Grandpa is currently thriving at Shepard and his condition actually seems to be improving. The foods good and the rooms are clean. The staff genuinely appear to want what’s best for the resident.

To be honest If I could give this place zero stars I would but I can't so I have to put one star. My father is stuck there after getting one of his toe bone amputated. To be honest from what he has told me and what I have see every single day some of the stuff are amazing and extremely nice but are just really busy. My father was trying to make their job as easy as possible and even joking with most of them but apparently that didn't matter because no matter how much he did physical therapy and didn't bother any of them. The people in charge are making his life harder and not letting him leave after doing everything they asked. A few of the workers even said that everything is very money motivated and had to work at the nightshift to avoid it. You will get makered off even asking for the smallest of help like going to the bathroom and even asking for an ice pack when you can't walk. They randomly cut you off of physical therapy even if you desperately need it. I am sorry if I am making this place sound horrible but after seeing my father in pain and pushing himself but still getting cut off of physical therapy even though he needs it, but still seeing five star reviews on this place I just had to put the truth of what I have been seeing every single day for the last two months. I like the staff but I am just talk about how everything operates.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
