If you want rehab this is the last place you want to go. My husband had knee surgery and went to this place for physical therapy. Using a walker he could walk to the bathroom before leaving the hospital. This nursing home left him in bed and sedated for almost two weeks, even though I told them the only thing he was taking for pain was Tylenol. Finally I told them I was taking him home the next week and they needed to get him on his feet. They told me Medicare would pay for more days. I was like their goal was to get as much money from Medicare as they could instead of focusing on getting my husband on his feet and ready to come hl home.⁰

My dad arrived for the chance to get stronger before going home from the hospital. He had just been discharged for a UTI that was resolved upon entering. The second night, the night nurse assured my exhausted mother she should go home. The night aid forgot to lower his bed and "put him to bed for the night". He fell out of bed from the highest position, hit tables, poles, and casters on his way down as he was dead weight. He woke up on the floor bleeding and could only yell out for help. He was down on the ground for over 20 minutes and when she came in to find him he was bleeding and dazed.. That night they refused to call my mother to tell her, did not send him for an evaluation despite hitting his head, and we had to find out the next day. This in and of itself is the most egregious mistake they made. Not sending a patient on blood thinners to the ER after hitting their head is just incredulous. These lacerations on his leg required him to go to the ER, have a special wound care nurse, and severely delayed any physical therapy that he was trying to do to get strong. The pain and swelling was simply a mess. We now had to hire a nurse for every night to help him since he could not walk well now with the hematomas on his leg. The first few days they accidentally doubled his stool softeners and of course because of this medication error, could not control his bowels and was going everywhere. The call button was useless because it took up to 20-30 minutes every time and obviously he could not wait. It took them five days to figure out this mistake. Of course at this point he has another raging UTI, so much pain with the catheter and it was like an absolute nuisance to ask to try and change it, clean it, or try anything to make the pain lessen. So as the weeks passed his health continued to decline and the pain in the urinary area was so bad he could even make sense speaking. We continued to ask for an antibiotic change and a new culture. Again, all of these things were like asking for something super difficult. One evening, Brian came and gave my dad his meds while he was at dinner. As we were talking at dinner he just passed out. I asked Brian why this happened and he said, "oh I just gave him all of his nighttime meds now." Who gives the nighttime sedatives at dinner? Answer: someone who doesn't want to deal with this patient that night. The final day his pain was at a 9/10. My dad whispered to me that his back was in so much pain. When we asked for them to send him to the hospital the nurse said there is nothing they could do for him there that couldn't be accomplished at the nursing home. The staff tried to find an EKG machine that was in a closet and didn't even have the paper to run the machine! There was no relief and with his congestive heart failure history we realized he needed to go to the ER. We asked the nurse to make the call and she said she had to ask the Dr. This process took at least a half hour for her to come back and say I'm sorry but the doctor cannot approve this and you would have to leave AMA. You are refusing to send a cardiac patient to the hospital who is presenting with major symptoms? My husband had enough and called an ambulance himself. It turns out that he had a massive tear in his ascending aorta so of course he was in excruciating pain! We had to make the painstaking decision to either have him pass away in the hospital within the next 24 hours, or to bring him home in the hopes that he could pass peacefully at home. What an awful, painful three weeks he had to endure at Advanced Health Care of Mesa. I would strongly NOT recommend you take your loved ones to this place unless you are simply recovering from a broken bone and are not ill at all. The PT group is amazing, the lunch staff, wonderful. His Occupational Therapist, wonderful. The actual medical staff has zero support or training and are obviously crippled by the lack of systems in place and proper training.

This is the best skilled facility around. The staff are truly amazing. My wife is very picky and she said it is very clean and properly staffed ratio to patients. We give them ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ 🤩

My Father stayed at Advanced Healthcare in Mesa for several weeks. What I appreciated the most was that the nurses, therapy and nutrition teams all seemed to genuinely care about him. They were all great! Beyond that, the facility was clean and feels like a hotel. The nutrition team worked at having variety in their menu and worked harder at finding something my Dad would eat. They also make an effort to keep people from eating alone. There is a nice patio for sitting outside. It was easy to get here from the 202.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
