They take good care of Donna. Two years on and I cannot say enough good things about Life Care. They are so patient and do so much to keep her comfortable and happy.

My father has been in rehab at the Life Care Center of Acton for the past 40+ days. His progress is slow (baby steps) but he has shown great improvement over the past couple of weeks. His care team there works with him at least twice a day on his physical therapy, encouraging Dad to continue to work and fight hard to regain his strength that he has lost over the past 4+ months due to being sedentary for so long and his ulcerative colitis being uncontrollable (thanks to his care team both at Life Care Center of Acton and from while being hospitalized at Emerson Hospital in Concord, his colitis is under control, finally.) The few things that I wish were better at Life Care Center of Acton was getting continuous updates, if not daily, at least weekly. Unfortunately communication seems to be poor between his care team and both with his doctors (GI and PCP) and with my brother and I. We always have to ask how he is doing when we go visit Dad as often as we can. We're not even sure who his lead physician is in his care team is. But thankfully after yesterday's meeting with his care team they are at least made aware that he needs another infusion of Remicade to keep his colitis in remission. I hope they can coordinate with his GI doctor (Dr. Hyatt) at GastroHealth in Acton about getting him over there to get his next infusion of Remicade that he is overdo for. The only thing that Dad really complains about being at Life Care Center of is how poor the quality of food is (at least to him is isn't very tasty). Not much we can do about that, he'll just have to swallow his pride and try to eat what is given to him. At least he gets 3 full meals a day to rebuild his strength and get his body the nutrients that he needs. My brother and I do bring him Ensure chocolate protein drinks regularly to supplement what he doesn't get from eating his meals in full. It is the hope with his allotted time that Medicare will cover for is up that he will at least have the strength to move himself from his bed to the bathroom for when he needs to go. It would ultimately be nice if he could be upright and walking around readily, if not getting up the stairs at least being able to get around on the first floor of our home. If I can't become his PCA, hopefully we can get a care team in to visit at home to do therapy with him, to visit him regularly so he is getting better and better. In spite of the relatively poor communication from the staff at Life Care Center of Acton, they HAVE done a wonderful job in trying to get Dad better again, working with him daily to rebuild his strength.

About this data
How to read this page
Star ratings vs. Care Quality Score: The Google star rating reflects visitor and family opinions collected from public reviews. The Care Quality Score is an independent metric derived entirely from federal inspection data — the two measure different things, and comparing them side-by-side gives a fuller picture.
Where this data comes from
All clinical data on this page originates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that certifies and inspects every Medicare- and Medicaid-participating nursing home in the United States. Reviews are imported verbatim from public Google business listings.
